The opening ceremony, which saw the mayor cut the ribbon, was held on Friday 21st February and was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Amber Valley, the Poxton family who founded Ashmere and have owned the company for three generations and Three Peaks Developers, who constructed the care home.
David Poxton, Managing Director of Ashmere Derbyshire said: “It has been an absolute pleasure seeing this home from the blueprints to the final building.
“We are very pleased to mark the official opening of Heanor Park and we look forward to welcoming new residents very soon.
The home is split into five individual households with a maximum of 16 residents per household, all with a private wet room.
Heanor Park has 60 bedrooms and offers residential, specialist dementia care and luxury, assisted-living suites which are the first of its kind in the area.
David Poxton added: “This home is a culmination of everything we have learnt in the last 35 years and all the different ideas we have been trialling whilst refurbishing our existing homes.”
Heanor Park, based just off Ilkeston Road with uninterrupted views of Heanor Memorial Park, is Ashmere Derbyshire’s newest home and invested £7m into building it.
Ashmere Derbyshire’s other homes include Codnor Park and The Firs Nursing Home both in Codnor, King William in Ripley, Smalley Hall and Kidsley Grange, both in Smalley, West Hallam in West Hallam and Valley Lodge in Matlock.
