Ashmere Derbyshire had a successful night at the East Midlands Great British Care Awards with five regional finalists and one overall winner.
Huge congratulations to our training manager Sam Cave, who won The Workforce Development Award. This was awarded for showing incredible enthusiasm and determination in identifying training and development needs of care staff.
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Sam Cave, who has been working at Ashmere for six years, said: “”Its lovely to get recognised for hard work. It has always been important to me to make training & learning an enjoyable experience; I tried to put that across in my entry to the awards.
“Ashmere values training staff to a high standard – thats why we are a Skills For Care Endorsed Provider, and exactly why we have received this award”
The judges chose Sam to win the award because she “demonstrated sound knowledge regarding training” and “was able to explain about some innovative pieces of work during Covid where she has been able to support staff with relaxation and being kind to themselves.”
Sam will now go on to the National Awards in Birmingham in September this year.
Good luck Sam!
